The dynamic microclimates
of Costa Rica provide a special opportunity to
Corn Breeders and Foundation Managers. Only a
couple of hours flying time from the U.S.A; our
Highland Climates, with constant 12 hour days,
cool nights, tropical sunshine and rich volcanic
soil provide excellent growing conditions for
Inbred Lines. We can move down the mountains for
fast results on Hybrid Grow Outs. We can plant
corn in December still return your crop in time
for spring planting or testing programs. |

Upper Central Valley- this
special microclimate features cooler temperatures
and afternoon cloudcover so delicate inbreds can
pollinate. The rich soil and gentile growing conditions
ensure a successful Nursery, Crossing Block or
Foundation Increase. Our farms are located 45
minutes to one hour driving time from the International
Airport. |

LA
GUACIMA - CENTRAL VALLEY |
|
Lower Central Valley- you
are off the plane and into the field in La Guacima
near Costa Rica's International Airport. Dry season
runs from mid November to mid May. Good Irrigation
water is available in this area with an abundance
of warm sunshine and mild to cool nights. This
location is suited to central and southern Corn
Belt matereal and can be used all twelve months
of the year. |

Northwest Costa Rica- this
lowland area is best suited to Hybrid Growonts
and Southern Corn Warm days and Nights advance
corn rapidly giving maximum heat units. Dry season

Shipping to and from the
U.S, customs clearing fees or import and export
permits. Drying, shelling and Bagging fees, which
are billed at cost. Usually it costs $ 100 to
customs clear and import or export permits are
charged at $ 45 each. |
TRANSGENIC PROJECTS

All GMO's must be pre- approved
for importation into Costa Rica well in advance.
To cover costs of additional government supervision,
we charge $ 50.00 per acre, fraction of an acre
planted. |
IMPORT PERMIT |
Is required by the U.S government
for return shipment from Costa Rica to the United
States, this permit must be issued by U.S. Authorities. |
